5 Tactics to Boost Your Facebook Business Page

facebook business page

Starting a Facebook business page is a straightforward enough process and yet with falling organic reach and engagement, many businesses find it a challenge to make their page work for them and fail to grow their page and increase its reach.

Here are 5 simple tactics you can try today in order to give your Facebook page a boost:

1. Create content specifically for Facebook

Create inspirational, new, unique, funny or thought-provoking content that your audience will be interested to read or watch.  Use video, share news, blogs, opinion pieces, case studies and so on. Try to make it interesting and varied.  Regular posting is important but consider fewer posts of better quality if you have nothing interesting to share. Nothing turns your audience off more quickly than lots of dull or repetitive content.  And here’s a note of caution – just because you can make one click and share Instagram and Facebook posts at the same time, it doesn’t mean that you should. Remember that the two are completely different channels and that’s why this one size fits all approach is unlikely to be effective!

2. Post when your fans are listening

Try to post when your fans are online, rather than what suits your working day. It’s also a good idea to mix things up a bit to try to reach a wider audience. This may not always fit into your standard working day, and it will be different for each brand. For many the Sunday evening slot has traditionally been a peak time as has the morning commute. Why not give it a try and assess your results?

3. Make Better Use of Video

According to a recent study by Cisco, by 2022 online videos will make up more than 82% of all consumer internet traffic, and so it’s clear that if you’re not using video to engage your audience then you’re probably missing a trick. When using video on Facebook make sure that you upload it rather than link to YouTube or similar. Videos uploaded onto Facebook have been shown to enjoy a 478% higher share rate. What’s more, making use of Facebook Live could supercharge your results even further.  Facebook recently reported that people spend more than 3x longer watching a Facebook Live video and comment 10 times more than regular videos.

4. Ask Questions and Seek Opinions

Asking your audience questions is a good way to offer your followers a chance to comment, engage and offer opinions. Increasing the number of comments and interaction on your page is fundamental to growing a business page and helping it to feature in your fans’ timelines.

5. Use the Boost Function

Consider boosting your best performing posts.  It doesn’t cost the earth and can be a very effective way to engage and reach more people.  You can target your potential audience based on a number of different demographics including location, age and interests.

We hope you have found some of these tactics useful. Don’t expect things to go stratospheric overnight! There is no magic fairy dust. As with all forms of social media marketing it should be viewed as part of a long-term strategy where consistency and continuity are key.
